I did it before it was my paid job. I suppose it became my job because I was already doing it. I have always had a love - near obsession - for documenting life. As a teenager, I was the person taking photos at all the nights out, doing ‘shoots’ - pre any kind of social media. I just loved capturing, candid or not.
Someone once called me ‘a content-recycling blogger’ which I found hilarious and also sad - but probably not for the reasons they were hoping.
The idea that you could insult someone because they share work that was taken in the past (rather than the past day or week) seemed so sad to me. The pieces we create are our creativity, so whatever comes through them is a part of ourselves, art should be timeless. But this is the internet.
Creativity - as I chat about a lot in my mentorship group - is a muscle and something that has to be trained to grow, but it also needs rest. And a bit like happiness it comes and goes - mostly of its own accord.
